SALEM —The Virginia Department of Transportation will hold citizen information meetings to gather input for studies taking place for a portion of Route 8 in Montgomery County and the Town of Christiansburg and a portion of Route 11/460 in Montgomery and Roanoke counties and the Town of Christiansburg. The citizen information meeting for Route 11/460 will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 22, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Elliston Volunteer Fire Department, 5001 Enterprise Drive in Elliston. This study will encompass a 17-mile section of Route 11/460 from Interstate 81 at exit 118 to Technology. The citizen information meeting for the Route 8 study will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 23 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Riner Volunteer Fire Department, 4171 Riner Road in Riner. This study will include a nine-mile section of Route 8 from I-81 at exit 114 to Route 863 (River Lane NW).
