Committees, Commissions & Boards

The Roanoke County Board of Supervisors appoints citizens to serve on more than 30 committees, commission and boards. Some of the appointments are made by magisterial district, at large or by the Circuit Court Judges, and most of the committees have a County residency requirement.
In January, the Clerk's Office prepares a list of Vacancies. For more information about any of the terms and appointments, please email or call 540-772-2005.
The Board is always seeking dedicated citizens interested in serving on the committees, commissions and boards that address County and valley issues. Serving as a volunteer member of a committee can be a rewarding experience and can also provide citizens an opportunity to have a voice in how our government serves its people. Also see Committee Frequently Asked Questions for more information.
