The purpose of this information is to better inform the general public of procedural matters. Nothing contained herein is intended to advise anyone as to legal remedies for a particular circumstance. Circuit Court Clerks and their Deputy Clerks cannot render legal advice.

The Roanoke County Circuit Court Clerk's office now  has Real Estate Records on-line, along with other real estate related documents, via Secure Remote Access (SRA) provided by Virginia's Judicial System Web-enabled "Records Management System".

The Information that is available to you:

Deeds &  Land Records Index from July 1, 1968 to current                                 

Please note:  Those records with a record date prior to November 16, 2001 will NOT have images available at this time.

Marriage Licenses:  Index & Images 05/21/1838  to current

Wills and Fiduciaries:  Index 1/3/1994 to current.  Images 10/26/2001 to current

Judgments:  Index & Images 11/26/2001 to current

Financing Statements:  Index & Images 11/28/2001 to current

General Miscellaneous:  Index 6/2/1997 to current.  Images 11/26/2001 to current

     The general miscellaneous index consists of many different types of documents.  Various oaths of office (Notary Public, Deputy Clerk, Deputy Sheriff), bonds, clerk's orders and assumed/fictitious name certificates.  November 5, 2009 we incorporated the  Assumed/Fictitious Name Certificate index back to 6/2/1997 and are currently working on adding those images.  As time allows we will continue to back index the remaining Assumed/Fictitious Name Certificates, Charters and clerk's orders. 

We are currently working on converting and incorporating the older indexes.  Once our indexes are complete we will begin  backscanning images to those indexes.

To accesss these records online via "SRA", you must submit an application for approval by the Clerk along with the appropriate fee of $50.00 per month with a minimum 3 month subscription for $150.00.  Upon approval of your application, our office will set up a log-in and password for your use.  The log-in and password will automatically terminate on the expiration date.   Please contact us for further information.
