As Roanoke County's Chief Financial Officer, Diane Hyatt is responsible for the fiscal departments within Roanoke County, as well as serving as the liaison between other departments and the County Administration. 

These departments include:

• Finance
• Libraries
• Commissioner of the Revenue
• Schools
• Treasurer

Diane D. Hyatt has served a Chief Financial Officer since June 2000. Prior to that time, she served as Roanoke County's Director of Finance from March 1986, and Assistant Director of Finance from August 1984.

Ms. Hyatt also represents the County within several regional organizations, including the Roanoke Valley Resource Authority and the Western Virginia Regional Jail Authority, where she serves each organization as board member and treasurer. Ms. Hyatt also serves on the Board of Directors for the Salem-Roanoke County Chamber of Commerce.

As part of her duties as administration liaison for Roanoke County Libraries, Diane Hyatt will also serve as project manager for the Proposed South County Library along with the Library director.

Before joining the County, Ms. Hyatt worked for eight years with the public accounting firm of Deloitte Haskins and Sells, where she audited a large variety of clients. Ms. Hyatt is a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Government Finance Officers Association, and the Virginia Government Finance Association.
