Youth Team Sports

 

The Athletics Division offers competitive youth teams sports for children ages six (seven for basketball and Lacrosse) to eighteen years old.  Team sport programs include football, cheerleading, soccer, basketball, baseball, softball and lacrosse and are available during each sports designated season.

***Please note that baseball and softball cancellations are done by each Recreation Club.

Coaches Training

 

 

NYSCA Coach’s Clinics  - Coaching Clinics Now Offered Online!

NEW for 2007! Coaches may register for the NYSCA Online Clinics. The Online Clinic for Initial Level Members consists of the Introduction to Coaching Youth Sports section and one sport specific section. PLEASE NOTE: The sport specific clinics are being added on an ongoing basis, and all sports will be available online by the end of 2006. Please visit the NYSCA Online Clinics for a list of currently available sports. Coaches must successfully complete an online exam and accept the NYSCA Code of Ethics Pledge. The membership is valid for one year, and the fee for the Online Clinics is $25.

 Coaches Screening Program

Beginning in 2008, all Recreation Coaches are required to have a complete criminal history screening done prior to coaching any sanctioned youth athletic team. A complete overview of the screening program as well as the list of disqualifiers and application can be found by downloading the background screening program found below.
