Youth Team Sports
The Athletics Division offers competitive youth teams sports for children ages six (seven for basketball and Lacrosse) to eighteen years old. Team sport programs include football, cheerleading, soccer, basketball, baseball, softball and lacrosse and are available during each sports designated season.

Cancellations and Inclement Weather
Roanoke County will only cancel practices and or games in the event weather has deemed feilds unplayable or unsafe. Decisions to cancel practices due to light rain are done by each Head Coach. Pelase contact your coach for this information. Games will be played unless posted on the cancellation messege line below. Please call the cancellation line of the jurisdiction in which your game is being played.

Coaches Screening Program
Beginning in 2008, all Recreation Coaches are required to have a complete criminal history screening done prior to coaching any sanctioned youth athletic team. A complete overview of the screening program as well as the list of disqualifiers and application can be found by downloading the background screening program found below.
Roanoke County Background Screening Policy
To make in convinient for youth coaches, the Atheltics Division will be in the community the following dates and times for ID Badges. Coaches are strongly encouraged to attend one of these sessions.
Monday, August 16th, 6-7pm Craig Center
Tuesday, August 17th, 6-7pm Green Ridge Rec Center
Wednesday, August 18th, 6-7pm Brambleton Center
Thursday, August 19th, 5-6:30pm Kessler Mill Office
Saturday, August 21st, 9:30-11:30am Brambleton Center
