Wolf Creek Planned Residential Development Amendment

wolf creek

Wolf Creek is Roanoke County’s first Planned Residential Development (PRD).  The residential subdivision is located off of Mountain View Road in the Vinton area, covers about 38 acres, and is comprised of five individual neighborhoods: Wolf Run/Wolf Crest, Beech Cove, Village at Stone Creek, Richard’s Wood and Rockbridge (See Map).

The master plan that governs the development of Wolf Creek was first adopted by the Board of Supervisors in 1995.  An amendment to the master plan was approved by the Board in 1997 and another amendment was adopted in April, 2009.  The intent of the latest amendment was to achieve the following goals:

1.       Reconsider proposed amenities

2.       Insure completed homes and features comply with the master plan

3.       Provide clear requirements for the remaining homes to be constructed

4.       Clarify and simplify the wording of the master plan document

The proposed amenities are scheduled to be completed by the end of 2009.

Wolf Creek residents, Wolf Creek developers, Mr. Altizer (the supervisor for the Vinton Magisterial District) and Roanoke County staff worked together since the amendment application was first submitted in July, 2007, to create a plan that all parties agreed upon.  See the Timeline with links to associated documents for more information.
