Our Staff

The Real Estate Valuation Office employs a staff of 9 full-time, state certified appraisers.  Each Appraiser who has obtained a Virginia Real Estate Appraisal license needs an additional 28 hours of education every two (2) years in order to maintain their state certification. They are members of the Virginia Association of Assessing Officers (VAAO) and other professional organizations.  

Seven (7) appraisers are responsible for the assessments of single family dwellings and agricultural properties.  Two (2) appraisers are responsible for the assessments of commercial, industrial, and multi-family parcels within the County.  

A full-time Land Use Coordinator is available to assist property owners who wish to participate in the County’s Land Use Program.  One Customer Support Representative and one Program Support Specialist are available to assist citizens and members of the business community with requests for information, including the scheduling of Board of Equalization hearings.  An Information Technology Support staff member is available to manage all of the technology needs of the Real Estate Office.
