Civil Division
The Sheriff’s Office consists of two separate Divisions: Civil/Court Security and the Jail. The Roanoke County Sheriff’s Office Civil Division includes the civil process and court security units. The primary objectives of the civil division are:
Provide a secure and safe environment and maintain order in the courtrooms/courthouse for all members of the judiciary and the public,
- Carry out all judgments imposed by the courts, and
- Serve all civil process papers in a timely manner.
- Roanoke County Sheriff's Office is not responsible for service of either preliminary or emergency protective orders. All protective orders issued for Roanoke County residents are served by the Roanoke County Police Department.
