• Pursuant to the State and County Codes you make your application in person or by mail.
• There is no required application form. 
• You are required to furnish a current rabies certificate.
• If you are purchasing a 3 year animal tag your rabies certificate must indicate a 3 year rabies vaccination was obtained.
• To apply by mail, send to P.O. Box 21009, Roanoke, VA 24018.
• To apply in person, visit the Roanoke County Treasurer's Office on the first floor at:
  5204 Bernard Drive, Roanoke, VA 24018.

Roanoke County Code 

• Roanoke County Code states that you may not have more than 3 Dogs unless you apply and are approved for a Kennel License. 
• Roanoke County Code also limits you to no more than 6 Cats.
