Ghostly Tales in the Wetlands @ South County Library
Ghostly tales for adults and teens (children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult) will be told by storyteller Susan Clark. The event will take place on the greenway going through the woods behind South County Library. Please dress warmly and bring a flashlight and chair.
At the same time, storyteller Joan Swift will entertain kids in grades K - 4 with spooky stories on the patio.
Hot chocolate and cookies will be served after the program.
In case of inclement weather, we will move the stories indoors.

Local Authors Meet 'n' Greet and Writing Seminar
This is a great opportunity to meet many talented, local authors from the Roanoke Valley and surrounding areas. Local authors will be available to sell and sign books as well as answer any questions you might have.

Are you interested in writing or publishing? Maybe journalism is more of an interest to you? The 2014 Writing Seminar is taking place at the same time as the Meet ā€˜nā€™ Greet. Our guest speakers will provide valuable information to new and seasoned writers.

Teen Costume Contest @ South County Library
Before you start to Trick-or-Treat, come to the Teen Center and compete in a costume contest. Everyone is guaranteed candy, but if your costume is the best you could win something spookier! For more information about the five categories that you and your costume can compete in please call us at (540) 777-8788. This event is for ages 11-17, registration is required.
