After School for Kids (ASK) is a recreation program where children in grades K-5 can have fun while learning through age-appropriate activities that foster physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.

The ASK program operates from 2:20 pm to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday, throughout the school year. ASK features your choice of a three-day or five-day weekly fee, with no additional activity fees.

How to Register
Registration for the ASK Program is a four step process. Registration is not finished until all four steps have been completed. Priority registration for next year (2013-2014) will begin will occur between February 7 and February 22 for current participants only.  Waiting list participants will be called after during the priority registration process. New participants may register beginning April 1.

Step #1:  Check the list of elementary schools above to make sure there is still space available at your child’s school.  Specific school information is updated WEEKLY but may not reflect recent changes in program status.  Call our administrative office at 540-857-5035 to be completely certain of program availability.

Step #4:  Look for a registration confirmation email within one week.  An ASK staff member may call you if additional information is needed.  Your registration is not complete until you receive a registration confirmation.  If you do not receive a registration confirmation within 10 days, please contact the ASK administrative offices at 540-857-5035.

You can now use your VISA, MasterCard, or Discover cards to make bi-weekly or monthly payments.  Simply complete the Automatic Draft Payment Form, and mail the completed form to the ASK Administrative Office to begin the payment process.   All outstanding balances for the previous year must be paid in order for a child to continue in ASK for the next year.   Payments are based on 180 days of service.  Draft will occur every other week. Dates that the auto draft will hit accounts will be available once the school calendar is released for 2013-2014. There is no charge for holidays and breaks.  Inclement Weather Camp and Teacher Work Day Camp are separate programs that you must register for separately.

Typical Daily Schedule
Daily activities at all After School for Kids Programs include gym or playground time, snack time, quiet time for homework or other quiet activities, and group or self-directed activities.  A daily schedule is posted at each program.  An example of the daily schedule is:

    2:20pm School is dismissed and participants go to the cafeteria
    2:20pm Roll-call and Check-In, Quiet Activities
    2:35pm Restroom Break
    2:45pm Active Time (Gym or Playground)
    3:35pm Restroom to wash hands
    3:45pm Snack
    4:00pm Restroom to wash hands
    4:15pm Homework or Quiet Activities
    5:15pm Group Activities, Enrichment Activities
    (This is flexible based on Homework needs and facility schedule)
