Board of Zoning Appeals (appointed by District)
The chief role of the Board of Zoning Appeals is to hear variance applications relative to the
Roanoke County Zoning Ordinance. A variance request is typically made when a property owner feels that the strict application of the Zoning Ordinance will create a unique and undue hardship on how he or she intends to use the property.
