Apply for a Library Card
Library Card Information
It's easy to get a library card. If you're a resident of Virginia, you can receive your free library card from any Roanoke Valley public library, bookmobile, or by
applying online.
Applying in Person
In the library, complete an application at the Service Desk. Give the application to a staff member along with identification that includes your current address (driver's license, check, bank statement, utility bill, etc.). Your library card will be issued immediately and is yours to use at any of the public libraries in the Roanoke Valley.
Applying Online
Complete and submit the
Library Card Application online and your card will be mailed to you soon.
Please note: Children 12 years of age and under may get a library card with the signature and identification of a parent or guardian. Temporary cards for out-of-state visitors are available for a fee. Ask staff at the circulation desk for more details. Cards must be renewed every two years. There is a $1 replacement charge for lost or damaged cards.
