Moving From Roanoke County to Town of Vinton

If you move from Roanoke County to Town of Vinton please notify the County office so we can correct your account.

Moving to another Locality in Virginia

We will need a copy of your: filing form, decal application from Commissioner of the Revenue's office, showing the month, day and year the new locality began taxing the vehicle (s).

Moving to Non Prorating Locality in Virginia

Any taxpayers moving from Roanoke County or the Town of Vinton to a non- prorating locality within Virginia you shall not receive a refund for moving or for selling the vehicle after you move.

Moving Out of State

We will accept any one of the following documents from the state you are moving to: a lease/rental contract, copy of closing statement, utility bill, moving receipt, vehicle registration card, driver’s license, letter from employer showing date hired, copy of new voter registration card, copy of Virginia State Income Tax Part Year Form or notarized statement.
