Curbside household trash collection is provided each week to Roanoke County residents and many businesses.

To find the collection day for your street, see our Find Your Collection Day page.

• Containers must be at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on the scheduled collection day.

• Be aware of holidays that may affect garbage collection.
• Handles must be turned away from the street.  The container should be placed at the street with the handles closest to the house.
• Do not block access to the can (i.e. mailbox, vehicles).

Free Bulk and Brush Collection is provided on each route every other week (either A Week or B Week). To find your collection day and if your street is a designated A Week or B Week, see Find Your Collection Day.

In addition, Roanoke County sponsors six locations for local Recycling, Alternate Disposal Options at the Tinker Creek Trash Transfer Station, and special Household Hazardous Waste Day events throughout the year.
