Treasurer
The Treasurer is one of five constitutional officers in Roanoke County which are elected by voters. The elected post of Treasurer was created by the Virginia Constitution in 1870. This elected status ensures that local funds will be accounted for by an officer who reports directly to the Roanoke County Residents.

Our vision is to strive to be the best Treasurer's office in the Commonwealth by maintaining a professional environment which excels in customer service, convenience, and efficiency. We will continuously explore any available technologies which will allow us achieve our service demands.
Treasurer's Duties and Objectives
- The Billing and collection of current Real Estate and Personal Property taxes.
Real Estate consist of over 84,000 bills annually, billed in 2 halves. Current Personal Property consist of over 115,000 bills annually.
- The Billing and collection of Delinquent Real Estate and Personal Property taxes. Delinquent billings are prepared and mailed 2 times a year.
- Pursuit of all other delinquent debt owed to the County of Roanoke.
- Reconciliation of all depository bank accounts for the County of Roanoke, other various departments, and external auditors.
- Chief Investment officer for the County of Roanoke overseeing the County Investment Policy striving for the highest and safest investment returns. Maintaining compliance with the Security for Public Funds investment Act of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Additional collections of Dog and Cat licenses, parking tickets, and Business licenses.
