Submit Neighborhood Concerns
Roanoke County's Zoning Code Enforcement officers work with citizens and property owners to investigate and resolve violations of the County code and zoning ordinance. These rules and regulations are in effect to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of its citizens and to promote convenient, harmonious, and attractive communities.
Our Zoning Code Enforcement staff receives hundreds of zoning code violation complaints each year, ranging from tall grass complaints to unpermitted construction, vehicle violations, and excessive debris. To help streamline the reporting of zoning code violations and the investigation of complaints, residents are encouraged to use the division's Neighborhood Concerns Application.
A Roanoke County Code Enforcement Officer will be assigned to investigate your concern and work to resolve any violations found. Additional concerns can be submitted at the end of the form.
The status of a concern may be checked 24 hours after submission.
The information you provide is confidential. As a complainant, your name will be excluded from Freedom of Information Act requests. Code Enforcement Officers may need to contact you in case they have questions or need more information about the code violation. Roanoke County’s policy is to not reveal the identity of complainants on zoning enforcement concerns.
For issues regarding Bulk, Brush and Trash pickup, Stormwater/Drainage, or other County services, please use the General Inquiry/Request for Service Form to report a concern.
