The Oak Grove Center Plan was adopted on March 23rd, 2021 by Roanoke County and March 15th, 2021 by the City of Roanoke. 

The plan is divided into a summary document and six additional appendices with more detail.

The Plan Summary highlights the key components of the various sections of the Draft Plan, which is fully detailed in six appendices. The Summary is provided in an easy-to-read format with many graphics, maps, tables and charts.

Read comments received during the public comment period (January 8 through January 29, 2021) and up through the public hearing meetings.

Plan Adoption Timeline

  • Roanoke County Planning Commission Public Hearing
    February 2, 2021: The meeting was recorded, so members of the public may view the meeting on the Roanoke County website. See the Resolution.
  • City of Roanoke Planning Commission Public Hearing
    March 8th, 2021: The public hearing was streamed and recorded live on Facebook.
  • City of Roanoke City Council Public Hearing 
    March 15th: 2021: The public hearing was recorded live on Facebook Live. The City Council voted to amend City Plan 2040 to include the Oak Grove Center Plan.
  • Roanoke County Board of Supervisors Public Hearing 
    March 23rd, 2021: The meeting was recorded live on RVTV and is available on the County’s website. The Board of Supervisors voted to amend the Roanoke County Comprehensive Plan to include the Oak Grove Center Plan. See the Resolution.
