Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare

Purpose

The purpose of the Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare Board is to serve as an operating community service board by providing a system of comprehensive community mental health, mental retardation, and substance abuse services under local control.

Composition

The board is composed of 16 members, with three members each from the cities of Roanoke and Salem and the counties of Botetourt and Roanoke, and one member from the County of Craig. Three members at large are recommended by the board and jointly appointed by the five jurisdictions.
