Sometimes in libraries we get the nicest surprises and when we do, we get to double our joy by sharing them with you. Vinton’s regularly scheduled As the Page Turns book club meets monthly, but this month it will be extra special. Author Claire Lombardo is joining the group as they discuss her first novel, The Most Fun We Ever Had, which has received rave reviews. The story revolves around a family with four daughters raised in suburban Chicago, and how time and unfolding of events affect their relationships with one another. The author is being compared to Celeste Ng, Elizabeth Strout, and Jonathan Franzen, and the novel is being adapted for a series co-produced by Amy Adams and Laura Dern.
Lombardo earned her MFA in fiction at the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. The book is my favorite type of fiction to read - literary, realistic, probing, and written by an author highly skilled in her craft, with promise of only getting better in the future.
We hope you’ll join us to discuss the book and meet the author on Wed., March 10th at 2pm via Zoom. Register here on our website.
