    The Catawba Valley Farmer's Market (CVFM) is held at the Catawba Community Center, located at 4965 Catawba Creek Road, Catawba, VA 24070. The Farmer's Market is held each Thursday from 3:30 to 7:00 p.m., mid-May to mid-October, rain or shine (3L30 to 6:30 p.m. in October) The mission of the Catawba Valley Farmers Market is to foster community fellowship while providing the Catawba community and nearby areas with fresh, locally produced food and traditional handicrafts. All foods and handicrafts are required to be grown/produced within 100 miles of the Market, but most are grown/produced within just a few miles.

    In partnership with Book City Roanoke, RCPL will host lively book and movie discussions on a variety of social issues important to the community. Schedule: Palaces for the People by Eric Klineberg September 26 at 6:30pm the group discuss the Intro-Chapter 3. October 3 at 6:30pm the group will discuss Chapter 4-Conclusion. The Public Movie and Panel Discussion October 29 at 6pm Watch the movie, The Public, a film that addresses homelessness and the role of public libraries. After the movie, join community members for a panel discussion. Refreshments will be provided. Talking to Strangers: What We Should Know about the People We Don't Know by Malcolm Gladwell November 7 at 6:30pm the group will discuss part 1 (first 130 pages or so). November 21 at 6:30pm the group will discuss part 2.
