The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is seeking public comments about a project that is under development to improve signalized intersections along Route 220 in the City of Roanoke, Roanoke County, Franklin County and Henry County, While seven intersections along Route 220 will be modified using an innovative intersection design known as a thru-cut, four are located within the County. These four intersections include Southern Hills Drive/Valley Avenue in the City of Roanoke/Roanoke County, Pheasant Ridge Road/Crossbow Circle in the City of Roanoke/Roanoke County, Buck Mountain Road/Stable Road in Roanoke County, and Clearbrook Village Lane/Indian Grave Road in Roanoke County.

Feeding Southwest Virginia’s Snacks to Go is part of the children's programs at the Vinton Library to reach children after school in neighborhoods and partner programs where other meal options are not easily accessible.
Children and Teens (up to age 18) may stop by the Vinton Library from 3-5 PM on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays to pick up snack packs. Patrons can request snacks for days we do not serve on the days prior. On Mondays, pick up snacks for Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday, pick up snacks for Wednesday and Thursday. On Friday, pick up snacks for Friday and Saturday.
