    The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is seeking public comments about a project that is under development to convert the “T” intersection at Starkey Road (Route 904) and Buck Mountain Road (Route 679) to a single-lane roundabout with crosswalks and sidewalks. The purpose of the project is to enhance traffic flow, reduce delays and accommodate future growth. Approximately 8,600 vehicles use this intersection daily with significant congestion occurring during peak travel times. You are invited to learn more by viewing information on VDOT’s website at www.virginiadot.org/StarkeyRoadRoundabout. Please use online comment forms to submit your comments or ask questions of VDOT staff between October 21, 2020 and October 31, 2020.   2. Meals to Go with Feeding SWVA (For Children & Teens)

    Feeding Southwest Virginia’s Meals to Go is part of the children and teen programs at the Vinton Library to reach youth after school in neighborhoods and partner programs where other meal options are not easily accessible. Children and Teens (up to age 18) may stop by the Vinton Library from 3-5pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays to pick up pre-packaged meals. Mondays: Pick up meals for Monday and Tuesday Wednesdays: Pick up meals for Wednesday and Thursday Fridays: Pick up meals for Friday and Saturday. FSWVA is an equal opportunity provider.
