Children's staff from RCPL engage kids and parents in storytime! Sessions focus on introducing and practicing early literacy skills and activities for children and caretakers. To register for storytime, click on the link and a Zoom link will be emailed to you the morning of the storytime session. For ages birth to 5 years old.

Wonder Packs for Kids!

Creative and imaginative activities designed with your developing child in mind. Come by any Roanoke County library to pick up your pack. Supplies are limited and available first come, first serve. Ideal for toddlers and early elementary age children.

Winter Reading Program

From January 11th to March 5th, Roanoke County Public Library will participate in Beanstack’s Fourth Annual Winter Reading Challenge, sponsored by Simon & Schuster. Books Like Us is a celebration of diversity, harnessing the transformative power of seeing oneself reflected in a book. This Winter, participating communities are invited to explore these books, from authors spanning an array of diverse backgrounds. We challenge our patrons to read at least 2 books before March 5th and keep track of their reading on our Beanstack site at rocolibrary.beanstack.org.

American Girl Club

Do you like reading, but you're not sure what to pick next? Let us do the heavy lifting for you! Get your own Teen Takeout bag, filled with snacks, prizes, crafts, and books hand-picked just for you. December's theme is Fantasy vs. Reality - join us on Zoom in January to discuss your picks and make a dragon egg keychain together. Grab yours while supplies last!
