  1. Public Hearing (4/21/21): VDOT Holds Public Hearing for Project to Improve Route 220 Intersections

    April 21, 2021, 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM @ Virtual event

    The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) invites the public to attend a virtual design public hearing for a project to improve seven intersections along Route 220 between Roanoke and Martinsville. The hearing will be held on Wednesday, April 21, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. as a virtual event. To access the hearing information and WebEx, visit the project page at https://www.virginiadot.org/route220Intersections/ and click on the link to virtual design public hearing. VDOT representatives will make a presentation beginning at 5 p.m. and answer questions through the WebEx Chat function after the presentation is completed. A recorded version of the presentation will be available on the project page after the hearing.

    Celebrate Poetry Month and National Library Week by writing a poem about the library. Pick up a poetry making kit, create a poem starting with a library quote and and using your senses to answer questions, shuffle your answers until they say what you want and you have created a poem. Send a picture of your poem and we will display some of them on our social media.

    Girls Who Code offers free after-school programs for 6th-12th grade girls (we also have a club for 3rd-5th grade girls), forming a sisterhood of supportive peers and role models using computer science to change the world.
