Hazardous Waste Disposal

Have old paint, fireworks, flares, smoke alarms, or other hazardous materials?

Unfortunately, Roanoke County Fire and Rescue DOES NOT accept/transport hazardous waste from citizens for disposal.

Instead, we recommend taking items to the Tinker Creek Transfer Station with the Roanoke Valley Resource Authority . If items are unable to be accepted, we recommend contacting a company that deals with hazardous waste disposal (ways to dispose of different items can also be found at RVRA's website).
