Recent Planning Studies

The Roanoke County 200 Plan was adopted by the Board of Supervisors as Roanoke County's new Comprehensive Plan in September 2024. The four Reimagine Plans for Glenvar, Hollins, Oak Grove, and 419 explore opportunities to develop higher density, mixed-use activity areas in existing commercial corridors. They examine commercial and residential development, multi-modal transportation, infrastructure improvements and design standards for future development and redevelopment. In addition, the U.S. Route 460 Land Use and Connectivity Study will guide future land use, development, and transportation decisions in the Challenger Avenue corridor over the next 15 to 20 years.
