Information About the June 8 Primary
Roanoke County will hold a Democratic Party Primary to select candidates for the offices of Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Attorney General to appear on the ballot for the November 2, 2021 General Election.
Please note that Roanoke County will NOT have a Republican Party Primary on that date, as both the Virginia and Roanoke County Republican Parties opted to select their candidates through a Party-run process. For information on participating in the Republicans’ statewide convention or the County Party’s canvasses for local office, please contact those entities directly.
Virginia does not register voters by party affiliation and conducts open party primary elections. As a result, all registered voters are eligible to participate in the Democratic Party Primary on June 8.
