June 20, 2023 - A list of all POSSIBLE offices that will be on any Democratic or Republican Primary ballots is available in the Order Calling for Primary Elections on June 20, 2023 issued by the State Board of Elections; the deadline for Democratic and Republican Parties to certify their slate of candidates for any state-run primary to the State Board will be April 11, 2023, after which time notice will be distributed to localities and we will update our website accordingly.
Once available in late April, Sample Ballots for any Democratic or Republican Primary Elections that will be held in Roanoke County on June 20, 2023 will be accessible by visiting Roanoke County’s VoterView Application in a web browser and entering your residential address in the search bar.
Please note: Due to changes in results reporting requirements enacted by the General Assembly during the 2022 legislative session, each of the 33 voting precincts in Roanoke County will now have its own dedicated ballot featuring your precinct's name and number in the top, right-hand corner. If a precinct will have more than one party primary in June, or if a precinct is split between two districts, it will have at least two sample ballots. For this reason, and to ensure that voters view the correct ballot(s) for their precinct, all samples will be posted in VoterView.
