The Uniformed Patrol Division is responsible for initial response to calls for service, preliminary investigations of all crimes and follow-up investigations of minor crimes, reduction of criminal activity through the strategic deployment of patrol resources utilizing information provided by the Crime Analyst, enforcement of county ordinances and criminal statutes of the Commonwealth of Virginia, and community policing and Data Driven Approach to Crime and Traffic Safety (DDACTS) initiatives. When time permits, patrol officers also serve warrants, and perform drug and weapons interdiction.
