General Services efficiently and strategically plans, provides, and manages high-quality delivery of solid waste services, building maintenance, capital projects, custodial services, fleet services, welding and fabrication, and administrative support for our citizens and internal customers.

Trash Collection

Our Solid Waste division provides trash collection. We collect household garbage weekly and bulk and brush every other week. The department also provides drop off recycling locations throughout the County.

Building Maintenance

The Building Maintenance division provides maintenance and repairs to County buildings.  We keep County facilities operating efficiently for citizens and employees.

Capital Projects

Capital Projects involve the design, land acquisition, and construction services for governmental facility projects such as libraries, courts, police and fire stations, and infrastructure improvement projects.

Custodial

Custodial Services

The Custodial division provides disinfecting and cleaning services for County buildings.  We keep County facilities safe for citizens and employees.

Fleet Services

The Fleet Services division maintains Roanoke County vehicles and related equipment in the highest state of readiness and safety using appropriate technology and the most cost-effective means available.
