Recycling

Recycling

Roanoke County is committed to recycling and we are working towards implementing an efficient and convenient method for citizens to recycle.

Recycling Locations

Roanoke County currently offers several recycling drop off locations in addition to the Tinker Creek Transfer Station. Please place only those items in the designated bins as other material will contaminate the load and it will not be usable. If you arrive at a recycling drop-off location and the containers are visibly full, please feel free to contact the Solid Waste Division at 540-387-6225 during regular working hours to inform us of the location.

Signs on trailers at all locations will be changed soon to reflect the plastic materials change to only Number 1 and Number 2. Thank you for your patience during this time!

Cox Communications

The County of Roanoke in cooperation with Cox Communications has a recycling location available at the Cox Communications building on Fallowater Lane in southwest Roanoke County. This site currently accepts mixed paper, aluminum, and plastics Number 1 and Number 2. The container is usually emptied daily (Monday through Friday).
