Secondary System Six-Year Improvement Plan 

The Roanoke County Board of Supervisors adopts the Secondary System Six-Year Improvement Plan each year, typically in the spring.  

The Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on the draft Secondary System Six-Year Improvement Plan at the 2 p.m. meeting on April 22, 2025, held at 5204 Bernard Drive, Roanoke, VA 24018 in the First Floor Board Meeting Room.

Road Maintenance

VDOT maintains Roanoke County roads that are listed in the state system, including repairs, paving, snow removal and construction. Private roads in the county that are not in the state system are the responsibility of the homeowners or developers along that road. Report a road problem to VDOT by completing an Online Work Request.
